About the Redlands Chamber Dog Jog

About the Redlands Chamber Dog Jog

The Redlands Chamber Dog Jog is a 5k course that begins and ends in Sylvan Park in Redlands. Runners and their furry friends will "em-bark” onto the course with two goals in mind …. have fun and make it to the finish line! Pooches and pals will strut through the tree-lined streets of Redlands on a closed course. Our two legged adult athletes will all receive an official Redlands Chamber Dog Jog t-shirt and our four legged competitors will each get a race bandana. At the finish line our four legged competitors will be greeted with milk bones! The Redlands Chamber Dog Jog is a fun-filled event for two and four-legged members of every family looking for a unique Sunday morning event. A generous sponsorship by the Rochford Foundation has also made all child registrations free! A portion of the proceeds will go to the Redlands Animal Shelter to assist in the ongoing rescue and adoption efforts.

Frequently asked questions about the Redlands Chamber Dog Jog. You are also welcome to call the Chamber if you need more information.

How does it work?

After you register, you and your pooch show up at the Start/Finish at Sylvan Park (course map available as a link on the menu bar).

What do I get with my registration?

Both you and your dog will get goodies at this event….. adults will get an official T-shirt and your running companion will get his or her own race bandanna.

Where can I send my check for the registration fee?

Please send it to:
P.O. Box 8693
Redlands CA 92375

Do I need to be “in the best shape of my life” runner to do this?

OH NO! There are plenty of other great 5ks out there to test speed, time and performance. This event is all fun, for two and four legged family members.

Can I run with a jogging stroller and my kids?

On one condition…if you are prepared to be one of the hippest moms/dads on the planet! As long as you can control the stroller, the cute kid in the stroller and the dog on the leash we say all systems go!!!!

Is there an age limit for younger runners?

No age limits…….. If you can cover (running, jogging, walking, strolling) the 3 mile course, you can absolutely survive the 5k! Runners with dogs in toe must be at least 12, however younger runners are welcome on the course unencumbered …in other words without a pooch.

Is there an age limit for pooches?

No four legged runners under the age of 6 months.

Are there rules when running with our “pals”?

Yes there are always rules but we have tried to keep them simple and easy to follow.

No retractable leashes, these leads don’t allow you to control your dog well enough for a crowed situation.

No leashes longer than 6 feet, you’ll need to keep your pet close to you to avoid conflicts with other dogs or other runners.

Dogs must be spayed or neutered, as well as current on all vaccinations. Licensed dogs only. Licenses must be worn by four legged runner.

NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS if your dog does not do well with other animals or people please don’t participate. Should a dog show aggression while staging or on the course, you will both removed from the race by an official with no refund.

No cats, rabbits, snakes, turtles, chickens, ferrets, tarantulas, cows, horses, zoo animals, farm animals or anything other than a dog.

Please clean up after your pet, “doggie bags” will be provided.

Is there a packet pick up for the event? How does all that work?

Yes. Packet pick-up will happen the day before the race at the Redlands Chamber of Commerce office…as well as the day of the race.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

If you fill out a Pick Up Waiver, someone else can bring your completed waiver and grab that packet to give to you. No racers will be allowed on the course without having signed a waiver.

Are there refunds?

Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds. The logistics of setting up and planning the event make it impossible. Just make sure you are good to go before signing up. If for some reason you can’t make it to race day, at least come to the check in, pick up your gear, and say hi to us!

What if I have a really intelligent question that isn’t answered here?

Please email us at info@redlandschamber.org, and we will hook you up with an incredibly intelligent answer. If your question is awesome enough, we might even publish it on the official Redlands Chamber Dog Jog page.
